Productivity Prompt: Turn Messy Notes into Actionable Insights

We have all written down something that felt important in the moment and confusing later. Think of a time you've attended a conference, workshop, training session, live webinar, strategy offsite, or even a meeting where you scribbled faster than your brain could keep up. When you got back to your desk, looked at the notes, you thought: what did I actually mean by this?

Messy notes can make good ideas disappear. You know there was something useful in them, but the context is gone, the handwriting is unclear, and the pieces don't seem connected anymore. It is not just clutter — it is the feeling that you invested time and attention, and now you have to reverse-engineer your own thinking. Try this prompt to draw insights from unclear notes:

I attended [event] as a [your role]. I uploaded a photo of my notes below. Help me organize these notes into three sections: what I heard, what it likely means, and what I should do next. Also identify the main themes, explain why I may have written these notes given the type of event and the work I do, and turn them into 3-5 actionable insights I can use right away.

Give AI the setting. A leadership summit, HR conference, sales retreat, or industry expo will all shape how the notes should be interpreted.

Include your job title so AI can interpret the notes through the lens of your actual work. A team leader, HR partner, operations manager, or individual contributor will likely need different takeaways from the same session.

Use the uploaded photo of your notes as the raw material. The goal is not perfect transcription; it is helping AI make sense of the fragments, shorthand, and half-finished ideas you wrote down in the moment.
